Conquer Cancer: From Beginnings to Breakthroughs
Our story began in 1984, when the American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) granted its first Young Investigator Award to Dr. Judith Kaur. As the Society's portfolio of grants grew, so did the need for funding across the cancer landscape. And so, in 1999, ASCO leadership established Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, dedicated exclusively to raising funds to support cancer research, education, and vital programs.
Since then, we’ve made incredible progress—and an incredible impact. We’ve dedicated countless hours and constant energy to making our vision a reality. We’ve distributed millions of dollars in funding around the world. We’ve launched careers and supported research conducted by thousands of physician-scientists who’ve gone on to achieve significant breakthroughs in treatment and care. And we’ve done it all in pursuit of a critical mission and while holding fast to a deeply held belief: Research Conquers Cancer.™
