Alexandria, Va. – Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, today announced the recipients of its 2021 Medical Student Rotation for Underrepresented Populations (MSR) and Annual Meeting Research Award (AMRA). These programs are focused on improving diversity in the oncology workforce by creating a pathway to encourage further engagement within the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the oncology community.

Alexandria, Va. - Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation, welcomes Deanna B. van Gestel to its Board of Directors.

Ms. van Gestel’s appointment began on March 27, 2021. Her term will last through December 31, 2023. Ms. van Gestel is the founder and CEO of Vaniam Group and the founder of Women Leaders in Oncology (WLO).

Ligibel, MD, FASCO, is the Hologic, Inc Endowed Women Who Conquer Cancer Mentorship Award recipient and Lorna Awo Renner, MBChB, MPH, FRCPCH, FGCPS, is the 2021 International Women Who Conquer Cancer Mentorship Award recipient.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2021 ASCO Annual Meeting Merit Awards. 

These distinguished awards support oncology trainees who are first authors on abstracts selected for presentation at the ASCO Annual Meeting. This year, Conquer Cancer will recognize 164 recipients with Merit Awards. These oncology professionals are recognized for their respective field and research advancements within the cancer care community.
