Seven forward-thinking oncologists gather to brainstorm what will become the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Among the group is Dr. Jane C. Wright, the only woman and African American among ASCO’s founders.
Alexandria, Va. – Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2020 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium Merit Awards.
These awards recognize the quality and scientific merit of research submitted by oncology fellows and trainees to an ASCO-sponsored or cosponsored meeting. The selected early-career researchers of these Conquer Cancer Merit Awards are presenting their findings at the 2020 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium in San Francisco, Calif., February 13 – 15, 2020.

Alexandria, Va. – Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2020 ASCO-SITC Immuno-Oncology Symposium Merit Awards.
Alexandria, Va. – Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation is pleased to announce the 2020 International Innovation Grant (IIG) recipients. IIGs provide a one-year research grant of up to $20,000 to a nonprofit organization or government agency in support of novel and innovative projects that can have a significant impact on cancer control in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The award is intended to support proposals that have the potential to reduce the cancer burden in local communities, while also being potentially transferable to other LMIC settings.

These awards recognize the quality and scientific merit of research submitted by oncology fellows and trainees to an ASCO-sponsored or cosponsored meeting. The selected early-career researchers of these Conquer Cancer Merit Awards presented their findings at the 2020 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium in San Francisco, Calif., from January 23 – 25, 2020.
2020 Recipients
Alexandria, Va. - Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation, welcomes two new members to its Board of Directors in 2020. National health care policy leader and urologist, Richard J. Boxer, MD, FACS, and global pharmaceutical developer and immuno-oncology expert Amy Peterson, MD, will help guide Conquer Cancer in its support of funding breakthrough research for every type of cancer.
