ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation, will present more than $11 million in funding through more than 400 grants and awards spanning multiple areas of cancer care, including precision medicine, palliative care, and breast cancer. ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation, is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2023 ASCO Annual Meeting Merit Awards. 

Annual Meeting Merit Awards support students and trainees who are first authors on abstracts selected for presentation at the ASCO Annual Meeting. This year, Conquer Cancer will recognize 143 recipients with Merit Awards. These recipients are recognized for their respective field and research advancements within the cancer care community.

Runowicz, MD, FASCO, is the Hologic, Inc Endowed Women Who Conquer Cancer Mentorship Award recipient and María Teresa Bourlon, MD, MS, is the 2023 International Women Who Conquer Cancer Mentorship Award recipient. 

Terrell Coring, PharmD, MD, transitioned from the pharmacy field to now pursuing oncology and cancer research.
