Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation is launching Close the Gap to Conquer Cancer, a campaign in response to the growing burdens facing patients with cancer, oncologists, and cancer researchers.

Gateway for Cancer Research℠ is investing $1.5 million dollars to create a more diverse patient population represented in oncology research and expand clinical trial access for patients from underserved and underrepresented communities.

The second biennial Gateway Discovery Grant, administered by Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation, will provide three to five years of funding to catalyze innovative clinical research with a strong potential impact on mitigating health disparities. Applicants may apply now for the grant, which will be awarded in 2022.

Today is World Cancer Research Day, and that’s a very special one for me. You see, down at UCSF Cancer Center, my medical team calls me “a miracle and the future of medicine.” 

I am here today because of decades of cancer research breakthroughs that have made it possible for patients like me to live with cancer. I am writing to ask for your help today because we need to keep the breakthroughs coming for millions of other patients and future patients all around the world.

Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation celebrates the life of Patrick Beauregard. Patrick died September 6, 2020, from colorectal cancer. He was 32. 
 
Patrick became part of our Conquer Cancer family under the care of his doctor, Kimmie Ng, MD, MPH, a  Conquer Cancer Young Investigator Award and Career Development Award recipient.
