“I was accused of being a hypochondriac. And in hindsight, I don't blame the poor internist that was assigned to me at Mayo Clinic because I came to him my first week of fellowship saying I have a hereditary tumor syndrome,” said Dr. Lewis. 

No Journey Is the Same 

“You know, everybody thinks, ‘Oh, you have cancer, you get chemo and that's how you treat it.'   And for me, it was sort of different...," said Lisa. 

Meaningful Improvements in Melanoma Treatment

An 88-year-old man with advanced melanoma was enrolled in a clinical trial of a microbiome intervention. Given his age, other more aggressive treatments were not considered feasible.

The first-of-its-kind HER2CLIMB breast cancer study was a career-defining achievement for Dr. Nancy U. Lin.

Dr. Mikkilineni leads a clinical trial showing remarkable success for patients with multiple myeloma, a blood-related cancer. By December of 2020, the trial had treated 20 patients with a success rate of 90%.
